Default Need BOM # for Ram Dana 44 axle please

BOM #611181-1
3.54 gears
Top # on ID tag is 52070143AM

I looked on Dana Spicer web site but this number isn't listed. I got this axle from a buddies wrecking yard and want to confirm its year of application. It's supposed to be from a '95, but 2001 was written on it by the yard guy.

Please help so I can get parts for the build up. I don't know if it's a 2nd gen or what.

If this turns out to be a 2001, is there any pros/cons to this newer version?

Thanks!

John

These are the knuckles that came off of it. They seem to look a little different than a '95.
Do these look like ones from a 2001 Ram?

The look very simmilar to my 2000 Ram. Did you get the calipers and/or thier mounting brackets?
2000 up Dodges used a dual piston brake caliper (bosch?) which is different from the Delco Moraine (GM) single piston caliper. The calipers will bolt up to your brake hoses, but you will need the mounts and appropriate hardware. They will help you stop better!

According to Dodgeram.org BOM #s for 1995-96 models are 610514, 610537, and 610512. the site doesn't list past 1998.

EDIT: I was able to find the BOM lookup on Dana's web site! Here is the link.: http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/deabill.aspx
According to Dana it is a 2001 axle.

Thank you!
I found a date stamp on the ring gear April, 2001.
No, I didn't get calipers or caliper mounting brackets with the axle. I wonder if I can get caliper mounting brackets at Napa or if they come with new/reman calipers.

Just saw that Napa does have listings for calipers with mounting brackets. Good to go now, thanks.

Almost forgot...Welcome to DF!

Just a suggestion, the next time you post up, you might want to do so in the 2nd gen section of the Ram forum. Your post will be read a lot more and you may get a quicker response.
