Yeah, rebuild.

Give more of an explanation so we can understand better. Then drop the pan and tell us if there's any metal pieces in there.

its 46re out of a 1999 1500 ram 1500 4x4 360ci also it had a transgo shift kit i put in it a few years ago. no metal shavings in pan. i have heard it could be tv cable adjustment, the govenor selenoid, possible band adjustment, or it might be as easy as a computer reset. just want some help narrowing it down

You need to put a scan tool on it, being in limp mode it could be many possiblities.

Did it go into limp mode as soon as you finished your rebuild? Did you ever have a time after the rebuild that it drove okay? If so, how many miles did it last?

My moneys on a bad rebuild. Did you use all new sensors? Did you flush out the tranny lines?

I'm just taking a shot in the dark, but if your TC was fried, the some of those pieces probably got into the solenoids and transducers as well as the valve body.
On a side note, where did you buy your TC from? I need to buy one.
