Default Source for Replacement Foglamp Assys

One aspect of newer vehicles that I don't like is the lack of a reasonable life of certain parts, one of which is headlight assys. Sure, polycarbonate is stronger than glass and can resist direct impact of debris; however, heat and UV radiation wreak havoc with the lenses.

Earlier last year, I replaced the bulb in one of my foglamps and noticed that the lens appeared cracked and was discolored. Recently, I noticed the same bulb was again burnt out and upon closer inspection observed that the lens now sports a rather large bulge indicative of heat damage. The other lens is also discolored and has a large crack that almost runs the diameter. I'm wondering if both have a compromised seal where the lens mates with the body or if they are two separate units that are glued together.

Bear in mind that my truck is an SLT that came from the factory with these foglamps; therefore, I'm interested in a quality replacement that will both bolt-up as well as used the same type of bulb and connector as stock.

Any leads are appreciated.

I'm familiar with both sources, guys, and I do appreciate your input. I was rather wondering/hoping there are others out there.

Either way, my foglamps are the fluted style but I am considering a clear lens.

I don't know. I'm pretty much open to something that works.

When I replaced mine, I went the route of just replacing the entire assemblies with replacement fog lights from o'reilly's. I spliced them into the original harness when I did the fog light mod. They work better than the originals with halogen bulbs in them. Just an Idea for you to think about.

Any idea what brand they were? Last time I was in O'Reilly's I saw a box of foglamps with "Made in China" on the box. I do whatever I can NOT to buy Chinese crap.

Worst case, I might visit the local off road store and see what they have.

I don't remember where they were made honestly, but they work really good over my stock fogs. The set was 19.99 and they light housings are made from metal and the covers are glass. Really good quality in my opinion.
