How many volts is the stock coil?

Default How many volts is the stock coil?

I searched briefly and looked in my haynes manual, do you know the stock coil volt output for a 01 , are all years 2nd gen same voltage? was looking to get a msd but its for a 97 #8228, i know about the wire harness, but i dont want to get a weaker output coil than what i already have. thanks

i looked on google, i found coils for 98-01, and it sais max voltage is 42,000. I dont think i would get one for a 97, but 98-01 seems to be the same.

Don't bother getting that coil. It does nothing more then your stock coil. I had one on my truck for 3 months then it died on me. I didn't bother getting it replaced. That's how how much it didn't work...

Be aware you might need a new battery if yours is older.I installed the 8228 in my truck and it wouldnt start.Not enough juice I guess.Then I bought an Optima red top and all in the world was good.
