Default Weird problem with the transmission. WTH

Has anyone ever heard of this problem.

When my gas light comes on or when I'm lower than an 1/8 of a tank of gas, my transmission WILL NOT shift out of first until I put more gas in the tank.

I kid you not. I've tested this 5 times and it's certainly the case.

Does anyone know what's going on besides my truck saying it doesn't like being low on gas.. I mean really? It will not shift out of fist until I put more gas in it... too funny

Maybe the lack of fuel is causing the engine not to get enough rpm's to shift.

Hey btw where the hell have you been man!! i found a new junkyard in shakopee they got a few 2nd gen's there and it's a U pull it also

Yakkier,

I've been off the charts busy. Clients have been calling left and right so I've been super busy.

Shakopee? I was just out there Tuesday at the Crystal Pierz by Chaska. Well, we need to get out there and swip some parts man.

As far as the trans goes, I was reading that the Output Speed Sensor causes that problem. I went to AZ and found out that I do have that specific code stored. I'll replace that and see what happens

Hey, where is there a exhaust shop that I can get a performance muffler installed without paying $500.. Are times THAT rough out here for these freaks to charge $500 to install a decent muffler for a better sound.. geez! I got a funny story to tell you about exhaust pros in Bloomington

FREE!!! I can wait.. LoL

No really, I have no problem paying you if you don't mind doing the work. I have no business having a welder in my hands. I know what I want, I just don't know anyone who WANTS to do it.

What I would like is 2 1/2 Y pipe from the collectors joining to 3" strait through to the muffler (single in and dual out) then 2 1/2 dual with stainless steal 4" tips exiting behind the wheels.. you know how us southerns do it!

What do you think!

Amen lol you bring the stuff and i'll tack it togeather!

When we're done you can help me do mine, im doing true duel straights, single pipe off each manifold straight back to the cab and doing a turn down on each side right at the start of the bed.

Your set up sounds wicked! I think both sould be pretty sick.. these folks don't know what loud exhaust is if they had to.

Where can I get the Y pipe and strait pipes at?

LOL, this had turned into a exhaust thread.

Napa or autozone depending on how far back you're going with it,

And yes i know what you mean i love driving down lakestreet at about 11 at night while the ****in street rats will walk right down the middle of the street as slow as possible, i just dump it in neutral and sit it at about 4 grand for a few seconds and watch them run like a **** lol

It happened several times in my 98 Ram 1500 - It was driving ok while low on fuel (light on), I parked for a bit and then I restarted it would not come outta first gear.. I was like wtf..

4000 rpm - in first gear - low on fuel - hoping to find a gas station - it not much fun..

Now I have run my truck outta gas several times before and never had that first gear only issue

Stopped, put fuel in it and then it ran fine.. So it just left me wondering, then it happened again.. Same fix..

Shortly after this issue started - I received a bad "Trans output shaft speed sensor" code..

Replaced the sensor, but not sure if they where related..

But I have tested my luck with a low fuel light since then..

That was the same thing that I was thinking of. The Output Speed Sensor is somehow connected to all this mess. I am going to change mine as soon as all this rain settles down.

We'll see, but this is a very strange issue. At least someone else had the same issue and I'm not the only one...lol
