Default Inside a cat ?

Just curious if anyone knows what the inside of our cat's look like, my buddy has a durango and he wants to gut his cat and he just wants to know what it looks like on the inside so he can know where to hit the honey comb to bust it out.

He's not cutting it open to do it so i just thought id ask.

if i remeber right the whole inside is honeycombed from side to side but if you cut a large enough hole through it you dont have to get all of it out it would be easier just to cut it open though and braze it back on the top of it

jason, iv busted apart many, their hollow.....other then the honeycomb. just punch it out with a pipe or bar or anything and then start the truck and rev a bit to blow everythign out. might have to repeat the process a few times. just watch their aint an o2 sensor screwed into it first, might not wanna plunge a pipe into that....

start punching on the opposite side of the 02 sensor, that way you wont damage it. should come out fairly easy with some elbow grease

yea he's thinkin he's got a plugged cat cause it's hesitating a bit going up a hill and has a kinda muffled sound coming from the tail pipe.

All he has is a cat with a straight pipe out the back
