Default 2001 Ram QC 4x4 Fuel Pressure

I have a 2001 Ram quad cab 4x4 with a 5.9L engine in it and I am having a fuel pressure issue. I noticed it was taking longer to start it after I would leave work than normal. I checked the fuel pressure and it is leaking down below 30 psi within a minute or so. To me, I would assume the pressure check valve on the fuel pump is bad. Now is the interesting part. If I leave the truck sit for 10 hours at work, it starts hard. When I leave it for a day or two, it starts right up. Any thoughts?? Thanks!!!

Heya, welcome to DF.

With that low of pressure, either you have a leak some place or a fuel pump issue. They're in the tank, though, so you have to drop it to get at them/replace them.

If you don't smell gas and don't see any of it in a puddle under your truck, my bet is the pump.
