Transmission was getting worse and worse everyday, so I broke down and took it to a trusted mechanic. Getting it rebuilt, and having a shift kit installed. $1500 and four days from now, my problems should be solved.

Also installed a Fabtech steering stabilizer. Here's some pics. Makes a decent improvement over stock, since 2WD's don't have factory dampers.

Sorry to hear about the Transmission buddy. So now that the stabilizer has been on a few days how do you like it? No drilling or anything for the 2wd, just plug and play?

I'm actually glad I got it. Was a bit pricey, but the truck doesn't feel like the steering wheel is going to be ripped out of my hands when I hit a bump or something. Also, my swaying is reduced. Here in Corpus the wind is unforgiving, but the damper helps keep me going straight. All in all, I do like it. And yep, just remove one steering box bolt, and mount the bracket behind it, measure four inches on the damper, and tighten up the U-bolts there. Not much to it. About 30 min. of work.

Nah. That's the look I'm shooting for lol, but no. I have a 1.5" leveling kit and AAL's, and 33's. But thanks for the compliment.

That price doesn't sound bad for a rebuild and a shift kit installed. Last year my friend spent about the same on a 2500 HD transmission for his lifted 1500.
