Default Fuel Pressure release

My son has a 2001 ram 2500 and #5 cylinder has 40 lbs of compression. We started removing components to remove the head and I just downloaded the fsm and see that the fuel pressure needs to be released before removing the intake. Is there a way to release the fuel pressure other than pulling the fuel pump relay and starting till the engine dies? We now have the exhaust manifold off, coolant already drained, belt off, hoses off, plugs out, etc. I'd hate to have to put everything back together to bleed the fuel pressure. Thanks for your help.

the official fuel pressure release is way overly complicated.

just put out all cigarettes, place a rag over the shradder valve thing, and press the center button. a very very very small amount of fuel will squirt out under some fair pressure, like 40psi. have the rag around it to prevent it from hitting you in the eye.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the extremely quick reply. I was hoping it was that simple but didn't want to cause any other problems. Already this forum is awesome.
