Add on towing mirrors
o and i also heard a while back that those ebay fold out dont come with the reinforcement plates to put them on with. if u dont get these plates ur wasting ur time u might as well duct tape ur mirrors on to ur truck
I think that's good advice to get the bolt on ones... As far as the backing plate goes, is it just a flat piece with holes, or is it contoured? I am about as cheap as cheap gets, and have some fabricating skills. If I can save a buck for the beer fund, then I get more beer!!!
Thanks for the replies. You have officially talked me outta the slip on ones. Now I just gotta see how cheap I can find the replacement towing ones. It would be a good time to find some, because I already have both inner door skins off.

ITs pretty much a flat pice of steel. This should give you an idea.

You got any links to those?
Anybody ever try these http://www.etrailer.com/Mirrors/****/11650.html? I like the idea of having them be quick release since I would rather not have towing mirrors sticking out all the time unless I'm actually towing something. For the life of me I can't figure out how these are suposed to fit on there unless the joints swivel.
