Guys... I need all your help
I have a 01 dodge 1500 reg cab long box... and i'm trying to decide if i want to put a 2.5 in leveling kit in it, i wanna put 285's on it but i don't wanna lose to much mileage. but i also don't want the leveling kit in it and have my 265's look like little donut tires ya know? cause i hate the look of a "lifted truck" with little tires. so what do guys think? any side view pics of the 2 or 2.5 with 265's would be great. also the 2 or 2.5 with 285's are good too.. thanks for your time.
2wd or 4wd ?
i think 265's would look dinky with a lift.
and i think most leveling kits lift the front too high.
i think 285's look good with stock suspension on 4wd, and don't rub.
they might rub on a 2wd, i'm not sure.

I had 265's on my truck with a 3'' skyjacker lift and it looked bad(not in a good way lol) but mileage was not a concern at that point. You could also go to a junkyard and get 2500 springs for probably cheaper and get almost 3'' of lift.

3'' lift with 265's

3'' lift with 265's
I believe I'm running 285's on my 2WD, not sure as the PO put them on. I'll look in the morning.

Yes, 2500 springs lift the front quite a bit. My buddy used 2500 diesel springs on his 1500 and his front end was a little higher than his back end after he was done. I did a 2" spacer and mine was 1" lower in the front still.
