If your worried about water do it on a hot day and when you done leave the hood open for an hour or so to let it completely dry, If you still have water were it shouldnt be get ready for some misses

I pressure washed my engine at a car wash and drove away when finished and it missed on 2 cylinders all the way home opened hood for 30 minutes ran at idle for 10 problem solved

another use for w-d 40. I use it like a polish. works good on the gunk that accumilates over a couple thousand miles.

WD-40 is a lubricant, not a cleaner. You don't want that getting on certain things, like your serpentine belt for example.

And takes the finish off of your paint, metal and just about everything else you apply it to. Not a good idea on that front.

Simple green will make **** rust. I have always used it to spray down my engines. Used it on the Ram and afterwards the steering shaft and a couple other things looked like crap. I'm dreading the day I need to wash the new setup. Scared whatever I use will start rusting stuff

Never noticed rusting on my stang though

In the motocross world, a lot of us like to use one cup of Tide laundry detergent, in a spray bottle with the rest filled with water. It works wonders, and smells awesome too!
