Default Custom CAI questions

So i am making my own CAI with white PVC Pipe, it's 3" i was wondering if i put the male, or female end in the throttle body. i don't have my truck with me so this is why i'm asking. what are the dimensions of the throttle body? will i need a PVC connection from the PVC to the throttle body or can i just put the female end in and clamp it. for the rest of them i have 2 elbows, one 4ft piece (Cutting to size) and the glue for it all. i'm just connecting male to female throughout the entire setup and gluing it together, i shouldn't need rubber hose connections should i?
so, what's the inside diamater of the stock TBI's on a 2001 5.2l??

If you are talking about the bore size of the TB, each hole starts at about 50mm, and tapers in to about 47mm at the bottom, IIRC.

Fastman (or you can do it yourself if you have access to the proper equipment) makes 50mm TBs where he bores them to 50mm all the way through.

It is not a TBI, and I believe it is 5 1/8". You are really better off just getting an air hat from a Durango and going from there if you really want to go the custom CAI route. Just keep in mind, its not really going to be a CAI because unless you make it true ram air, or have the filter inside the fender wall, it is still going to be sucking in that same hot engine bay air a name braind CAI would (Unless it is a Volant). I would stick with the stock setup if I were you.
