yup what he said...

its a crappy thing that speed density efi has to have so it can meter the air/fuel mixture

as to where MAF uses a sensor in the intake tube to get the air flow and temp reading

but i looked at the prices for those kits and i think ill get it anyway just to be safe and if its already been done then ill just send it back or sumthin idk yet but ill definitely check to see if its aluminum...

:P

He'll never finish it anyway. He always tells us "next week" every other week, it seems.

The most bang for the buck you're going to get is from (tow-safe) chipping the critter. And if you're going to be towing, get a stouter transmission because the factory unit is just too darn weak. For not all that much more than paying someone else to remove/replace with a stock rebuild you can pick up a PATC Viper (or something similar done by a local shop) and install it yourself. So do that and throw on an aux trans cooler and that worry will be gone.

Headers are great, my truck's going to get some this year, but if I were going to be towing often or far I'd do these things first. And if the trans is too much of a drain on the wallet, at least get the cooler in there, get the bands adjusted, and hope for the best.

looks good dude! I like the brush guard and hood

about the plenum, take the airbox off and look down in there with a flashlight. If you see oil, plenum's gone. Also, if you have one of those telescoping magnetic pickup tools, stick that down in there and see if it sticks to the plenum pan. If it sticks, it is the stock steel plate.... We are plenum geniuses around here lol
