a 3/8 inch hole in my water jacket that i can use to plug in a fan thermostat.

 

check the block drain plugs. one on each side, hiding behind the motor mounts. they can be difficult to get out, and tend to round off. also the wrench/socket angle is poor, so watch out. if they do round off, clamp on a good pair of vise grips and use a pipe for more leverage.
