So pissed, plug boot stuck
Well, i am 90% homicidal now. tried to yank out the last spark plug so I can put mt TB back on and fire her up.
Wire came out, boot stayed...7 cylinder.
Man am I pissed. Now I have to go to autozone and buy a frikin plug boot puller. Why did it have to be the 7 cylinder?

plug puller didn't work. Any way to take off these plug boot "protectors."
That is what is killing me. Can I just whack the hell out of them with a BFH until they come off? Do they come off?
I will be whacking away until I get tired, then I might check back here if they don't come off.

Murphy's Law, man. If it'd been the #1 it would have been way too easy.
The boot puller is handy to have on hand anyway, so it's really just an excuse to buy a new tool. Never pass up that opportunity!
Were it mine to do I'd get up in there with an Xacto knife and cut the boot away. And use that so-called dielectric grease on the replacement, too. I don't know how well it actually works as a dielectric, but it does keep the boots from cooking onto the plugs.

i grabbed mine with channel locks and rocked them back and forth till they came out. on the stubborn ones i probably whacked them back and forth with a hammer. don't go overboard and break a plug...
this reply is way too late, but yes - you can remove the heat shield tubes. i took mine off a long time ago and threw the damn things as far down in the woods as i could. all they're good for is catching and holding dirt and causing stripped plugs.
i got far more than 9 cents worth of satisfaction by throwing the damn things.

I will be getting hughes heads pretty soon. If we can get a group buy, I will be getting them soon. if not, I will wait until next march when i get my tax refund. Or if some stocks spike.
