Anyone know about this wire going to overdive?
So I'm sure you guys probably all know of my transmission problems I've been having. When I put it in gear it just stalls out. When I do get it to move and I pull up to a stop light it acts like it's going to stall and just cuts off. Now when it does go it seems to really shift hard and shifts way early to second then early to 3rd then it slams back down into 2nd. I've got a few friends offering to help me pull the transmission which I'm about ready to do. One of them ended up talking to a few of his friends though and his friend said he had the exact same issue with it cutting off when putting it in gear I'm not sure about the shifting issues. He said it ended up being a switch in the transmission that controlled the overdrive and that it was telling it not to shift. He said it was a wire running to the overdrive that you could disconnect and that it fixed it just that it didn't have overdrive. Anyone know if this could be my issue? Which wire is it I need to disconnect to try?
Try disconnecting the 8 pin wiring harness that goes to the tranny and start the truck put it in gear and see what it does.
I may not shift thru all the gears because this is the wiring for the selonoids in the tranny.
But if it doesnt die when you put it in gear may mean you just need to replace a faulty selonid.
