Ok I got a check engine light about 2 weeks ago and found it to be the Evaporative control system... mechanic said replace the gas cap so I did. The light stayed off for about a week and came back on, checked the code... same thing. So I reset it and hoped it wouldn't come back on, it came back on this morning!!!

Anybody got any ideas what it could be other than the gas cap?

 

yes, there is a canister down by the frame just past the cab if I remember correctly (I dont speak from experience, just what I've read), make sure all the vacuum lines are ok from there back to the motor. you most likely have a cracked line down there.
