the 2001 does not have that on their alts. It is just a single connection. My 1996 had one. Different alternators.

I remembered when i took it off and i said "That's funny."

Thanks for the tip though. I am hoping its just the battery. But i won't be replacing either without a test.

CRAP!!!! I just remembered, this is the second alternator I BROKE on a dodge ram. I broke one of the threads on the PDC on my 1996 and I could not connect it. So I had to get a new one. Now I broke this one.

Alternators beware!!!

I was just wondering if anyone would recommend oreilley's over autozone. They both have nippondenso alts for the (same price, 151) with limited lifetime warranties.

Autozone gives a 10% discount for military and i am a rewards member. So I will probably go there.

Unless the trickle charge helps. But I think the alt is done. Only good at high RPMs.
Why don't you get your stock alt rebuilt? I got the alt rebuilt and beefed up on my '75 Dodge truck for $60. He gave it 80 more amps, put it through an acid bath to clean it up, and then painted it. It was a whole lot cheaper than buying another wimpy little stocker.
