clearing codes

Default clearing codes

is there anyway to clear the codes from a 96 1500...getting map sensor codes and wanted to clear the code and either make it come back on or not before i put 100 dollar senser in it

easiest way without a scanner is to just unhook your battery for 10 mins or so.... and pull the headlights on to make sure everything is drained

try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins.

ok cleared the code. now i cant get it to reproduce the dying and the code didnt come back up....would having the code on make the truck die and should i replace the map sensor in anyones opinion

you could of had a bad electrical conneciton......just keep an eye on it over the next few days, disconnecting the battery resets the computer so the comp will have to relearn everything again so your symtoms may come back.

oh filled up and put in some sea foam fuel cleaner and checked my mileage am getting 16 hope it dont go down any lol....thanks for all the quick replies and help guys...gotta love this site
