I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport and I am having the hardest time ever trying to find any brush guards, push bars, or bull bars. Almost all that I find say excluding sport. Is this because of the bumper or what? I figure the frame and all would be the same on all ram 1500 regular cab short beds. It seems that I can't find any bull bars for it. If anyone could help me out that would be great. I really wanted something a little smaller like a bull bar and not a full brush guard however I did find two brush guards if nothing.

yea ur gonna have a hard time findin one, but depending on if ur gonna keep ur truck forever and how much u wanna spend, you can goto www.roadarmor.com they have lifetime warranty on their bumpers, they look great and are indestructable but costly.

 

I ran into the same issue. The newer sports like yours has a lower hanging bumper IIRC. So to install a bull bar you would have to cut the bumper around the bar mounting points. I had a whole thread on the diffs on sports.

 

i believe it was after 99 they restyled the sport model and they changed the bumper, grill, and head lamps and it hands lower than the standard dodge bumper. it can be fabed to fit a brush guard or bullbar but that means cutting into the bumper.

 

I know someone makes a prerunner bar that houses 3 8 inch lights. I have the catalog at my house (I am not at home) and I cant remember the name of the company that makes it. Sorry I guess that was'nt much help..lol
