Default Hello!.. and.. Help!

Hey every one, nice to be here.

I've got a SUUUPER chill *** neighbor with a suuuuuper clean Second gen. He needs a little help.

its a '99 1500 4x4 V8 extended cab. Said he was driving down the freeway when all of a sudden his check gauges light came on. After the check gauges light came on, he heard a loud noise and the truck lost power. After which it stalled on the freeway!

He coasted it to the breakdown lane and put it in park. Tried to start it, took a few tried and it started with the same noise. Now he's got a knocking sound (we're hoping its not the bearings) when he accelerates. The truck dies often when at a stop light/sign. It doesnt make any knocking sound at idle.

His check gauges light is still on. We've checked the oil and its fine. Oil pressure is normal and was normal at the time the issue started.

Any one have any ideas or can point us in some kinda direction?

Thanks!

That light means that the computer has something to say, so before doing anything else, read the diagnostic codes.

Could be this, could be that, I have a hunch myself, but read the stinking codes!

Just do this and read the codes back from the digital od. key: on-off-on-off-on Then your codes should show. Then report back. Or you could always goto your local autozone and get a free code scan.
