hey man,
I had a power chip in my 97 ram, 5.2 L.... It sucked and Id advise against it.... sucked gas down faster... made the engine run richer obviously, but sucked my gas... then one day I went out to start my truck and NOTHING... i took it the the mechanic and as it turned out the chip had fried (as they do) and shut down all gas circulation to the engine... long story short, I wasted money on the chip and wasted money on the gas! I have since put on borla performance headers and they sound and give me much more power than the chip does... But hey, that only my personal opinion.. see what some others say!

I don't know if this is true or not, but I was told by a Mopar performance shop that the stock PCM will eventually learn a Jet chip, making it worthless. His recommendation was to get a performance PCM, a custom flash on your current PCM, or a programmer such as Hypertech or Superchips.

hey thanks guys.....hypertech i believe doesnt make a programmer for a 96 5.9L. if im wrong and anyone knows of one let me know, thatd be great. ive got a custom edelbrock exuast on mine headers back n it works great. best thing ive done so far. id really like to get a shift kit now and a fastman throttle body. but im doin more n more research on it and need more cash too..haha dont we all.

I am running a stage 2 and have not had a problem. My throttle responce and overall performance inproved. I will say that I am going to remove it for a Hypertech due to some mods that I have made.

Yes they do, 96 is the earliest you can get the hypertech programer (for a dodge anyway) so it leaves us 94-95 guys **** outta luck
