Default New brake rotors and rims not working

I have a 1996 dodge 1500 v6 i just recently purchased it and quicky noticed that, front right brake was making a noise. So i went out and got new a rotor but the new rotor studs locations dont match up with rim and are to thick and the old rotor has been discontinued at advanced auto parts. i also noticed that there the one they have at AAP has "gear like teeth" going around the back and the old rotor doesn't have that....plus the old rotors are non-resurface-able .....

the gear like teeth sounds like an ABS ring, and the whole thing sounds like the wrong rotor. are you sure Advance didn't give you the wrong part, maybe mixed up in the right box.

Autozone did that to me once with the wrong TPS in the correct box.

Have you gone on their website and checked the part numbers? they have a decent site and I would check to verify the part #

I bought rotors for mine at napa. Worked fine. 1998 ram with stock steel wheels. I'd think they'd work on your truck too. I'm assuming all the 1500 rotors are the same.

some might be different because of 2 wheel and 4 wheel abs.

They only sell the rotors with the abs ring at most places like autozone, it does not affect anything if you have 2wheel abs it just doesnt get used.

Maybe the first rotor was the wrong one measure the bolt pattern on the rotors they should be 5x5.5

This is on a 2wd truck right?????

i've tried using the part number that is on the old rotor at advance but the rotor isnt there anymore. i would think the new design rotors have the abs ring but if it still fits the hub. but, the studs seem to large then old studs

I know the rotors I have on my truck have the abs ring and I dont have 4wheel abs, I put these rotors on and they came from autozone, the studs are the same size from 94-01 so it should not be any bigger on the new rotors
