Biggest in regard to what?

-cubic inches
-hp
-torque

Answer could vary depending on what you mean? Are you talking all Dodge trucks ever, or just the 2nd gen Dodge Ram?

Dodge trucks in general... my boss just got a 2004 Dodge Ram Sport quad cab and she said her engine is a 371 ... and hers is also a gas powered truck not diesel.

371? pshaw.

Perhaps she got a 3.7 liter, commonly written 3.7l, which looks like a 1 sometimes.
If that's the case then she got the 6 cyl.

The gas v8's are 4.7L and 5.7L, neither of them are anywhere near 371 cubic inches.

Last i checked the 2nd gen rams were 5.2L(318cu), 5.9L(360cu) or the V-10, not sure the CU.

I wouldnt mind, and please correct me if im wrong about the classics,

340 6pk
383 - i believe this was a biggy Block, to counter chevys 396cu
426 hemi, best motor ever assembled, besides the chevy 427 Rat
440

i would rather have any the above motors than my 5.9.

please remember, bigger isnt necessarily better

Bly - he's asking about his boss's 2004, so the engines I listed are accurate.

But the 2nd gens came with the 3.9 v6, 5.2 v8, 5.9 v8, 5.9 I6, and the 8L (488) v10.

LA engines include the 273, 318, 340, and 360. A worked over 360 is just as good if not better than a 340.
The B and RB (big blocks) include the 383, 400, 426 Wedge, and 440, and then there's the oddball original 426 Hemi.

Had a 383 it was a workhorse motor, but liked its gas like all the Dodges and lets not forget the 361 in the beater trucks of the 60's and I had one plummed into a Chryster Cordoba (first car I got laid in) man I miss that car...lol

Hi there, first off I'd like to clear up the gender issue, I'm female not male....lol, I'm sure hubby wouldn't like it too well if I was I he...lmbo

Next I want to thank you all for giving me the info on the different engines.. I still think my boss has flipped the numbers around a tad bit

and Silver-Dodge I think the two of us would know each other if we ever met -- just by the trucks what do you think....lol
