Exclamation 99 Ram prob, plz help!

Hi everyone, im in need of some help.
I drive a 99 Dodge ram 1500, 5.2L , approx 220,000kms.
I recently changed the spark plugs, and wires.

Lately when i start the truck, the truck idles weird for awhile.
After a bit it'll stop, but it happends every so often.
Now today, the truck is acting gutless.
It shifts earlier then normal, and has a hard time getting to 3000rpms when driving.
When i try to accelerate, it doesn't downshift and the overdrive doesnt seem to be working.
I also smelt a very tiny bit of gas in the oil.

If anyone has any ideas or anything, please help!!
Thank you in advance!

Welcome to DF.

If you haven't changed the distributor cap and rotor yet, it should usually be done when you change the wires. That may help.

Also, you should follow this wire routing procedure, otherwise you'll get some crossfire. What wires did you buy/use?
