Default Taurus or Flex-a-lite E-FAN

Hello Everyone ,

I am going to put an E-FAN under the hood as my stock one is about ready to fly apart but I can't make up my mind on a fan. I have found one in a 1995 Ford Taurus with a 3.8 and I can get it for $50 , or I can order this one ......

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...T#ht_820wt_939

If I get the Ebay one then it comes with everything I need to install, the Taurus Fan would need a relay and controller kit. What is my best option and if it is the Taurus Fan then what Relay and controller kit should I buy for it ?

My Truck and I will thank everyone in advance for all your help!

all reputable street guys use the flex a lite black magic fan.

Pulls very well. Had one on my Camaro, and every buddy of mine with a mustang 5.0 had one.

I'd get it from Moe's performance, only $30 more than the eBay guy, and its black rather than blue. I like the black, although I guess that's personal preference.

Plus the auction lists the fan as a 16", where as Flex-a-lite's website states that it is a 15". If he doesn't know exactly what he's selling, I'd be a little iffy on buying it from him.

I have the Flex-a-Lite 180 Extreme. Bought new in the box over four years ago now. I went that route rather than the Taurus "pick 'n pull" route because everything comes in the box, no having to go find a controller and piece together a system.
I was kinda leary about trusting the engine in my $30k+ truck to a junk yard fan. The Flex-a-Lite has a bit better CFM rate as well at 3300 vs. 2600.

That said, I know a lot of guys who run the Taurus or Mark VIII fan with no problems and have under $100 in the setup even with a new controller...

The only bad thing I can say about that kit, Pacman, is that it goes through the radiator, which I've been told is a bad thing. Supposedly, our radiators aren't designed to carry any sort of load like that, and it may actually damage the radiator over time.

Yeah I don't like the idea of that either....I think I will fabricate a couple of brackets to hold them . Thanks for the information.
