Default Minton Motors

I ordered a TB for $62 shipped. It's in great shape just a little dirty (no big deal) with all the sensors, linkage, brackets, etc. They even sent bolts and it all got here today and I ordered Friday around 1730(5:30pm)EST. The cheapest I could find local was $180. Call them if you need parts. Great customer service. They take credit cards too.

That's a good deal for one with the sensors on it. I've recommended them quite a few times since my sister got a drive shaft from them.

Yeah I think I will try to use them for my engine/tranny project. I want to get a good engine/trans core combo and rebuild them myself. I got the TB from them for research actually, and I will probably do the Poorman's TB mod to it. Just can't afford to have a lot done for me right now.

If you don't have access to a milling machine then you can get one of those 3 stone honing deals and bore it out that way but it's gonna be slow going. Maybe sit down and watch a movie and have it sitting on a towel on your lap to catch the aluminum dust and just zone out on the movie while you remove material from the walls of that thing. I suggest a movie because I tend to grab a knife and a stone when I'm watching tv if I have any that need sharpening.
You can get a dial caliper pretty cheap but I don't know about the spring loaded diameter checker things (gotta love my technical terms).
You can also use a Dremel or a hack saw to remove the flutes from the top of it.

This is what you want it to look like, I did mine on a milling machine.

I got my spare from a guy that wrecked his truck for 20$ with all the sensors.

Thanks, and it's more like 3 times that. It hurt to click the checkout button but it was worth it.

I was thinking of trying to find a machine shop and get them to do it for like $20-$50. I am on a $100 or less budget. If it costs more that $100 I have to save up. I am waffling over 52mm vs 53mm, which will affect what size plates I will need to find for it.
