Has anyone ever used this? i know oo4x41500 has it. if ya have does it work good? and does it completely block your taillights-light? ive just never heard of smoking your lights with a spray then i heard of this. i may get a can in the morning and try it on my 3rd brake light cause i have an extra one.

one of my friends did it to his tail lights and you can still see the light if you only spray it with one or two coats anymore it will be to dark another one of my friends did the front turn signal under the head lights on his jeep and it looks good

You'll get a ton more questions answered if you type "vht" or "vht nightshades" or "nightshade" into the search area..It works great, very easy to use. Don't go too dark or it's hard to see brake lights during the day. 3 coats is pretty dark. i did a light 1st coat then a medium to heavy second coat. clean and wetsand first with 1000grit then spray and let dry. I sanded again with 2000 and let dry. spray again let dry. I sanded again and then used a dupli-color automotive clear coat. Some have used a clear coat for plastics from wal-mart. do a few good coats sand and then buff it out. I had to re-do it the first time bc the clear didn't turn out right at all. But practice on your light. Over spraying will cause it to run as the vht stuff is very thin. so do light coats. If you screw up sand it down and start over..its easy

i like. did you do the clear coat and all that? i think im going to get led light bulbs soon too so it should be brighter. (side note on that, should i get clear led's or red. the bulb i have is clear but the site said not to use clear led's with a colored lense?)

no i did not sand them or anything.
i just unbolted them, wiped them down with a wet rag, let em dry and paint them,
i started with one coat, installed them to see how dark they were, then did a second coat. they look black now, but with the brakes on you can see them perfectly.
i even taped off the lens and painted the trim white to match my truck.

It looks alright, just use very light coats, or else it will crack when it dries.

I did mine and it turned out great. The key is to keep em CLEAN before you spray em. I went a little further and used BULLDOG adhesion promoter first. I swear by this stuff if you want paint to stick to anything, especially plastic. Just take your time and dont get in a real hurry. like stated earlier the vht will run if your not carefull. I did 4 really lite coats and its plenty dark, but when you hit the brakes its almost like stock.

That stuff is great to use in light coats. I did mine with it and you can still see the lights during the daytime. I taped off the backup lights and just did the turn and taillights.
