Default Intake Manifold Bolt Thread Pattern?

Well, ya'll should get a good little giggle out of this, but I over-torqued my intake manifold TTY bolts and then after realizing it, I backed them off and retightened to the spec torque. Turns out it didn't seal and I have lots of misfires.

So, I need to remove them, replace the gaskets, and install new bolts. I want to do it tomorrow so I don't have time to order the bolts again from Hughes, and I really don't want to pay $34 to Advance Auto for them either. I was hoping that someone might know the thread pattern so I could get some from Home Depot.

If you can help me out, please tell me the thread pattern and length.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know what size bolts are needed. However, if you're gonna use standard bolts, use grade 8 bolts.

Just a thought: buy one bolt from the auto parts store and take it with you to the hardware store. If you can't get the dead nuts correct length, go shorter rather than longer. If what you find at one store is too short for comfort, go to another.

Have an extra set of these bolts sitting on my desk as I type this. I did this job yesterday (with interesting results), and chased and threads on the cylinder heads and bolts.

The bolts are 5/16-18, and they are 2.25" long. They also have a washer on them that is about 3/32" thick.

Good Luck,
Chris

why would you want to use the hardened grade 8's ? aren't the TTY's relatively soft, and that's why they stretch (and break). i'd think regular bolts with a dab or thread locker would be fine. what am i missing ?
