Default timing chain slop

timing chain slop... here's a couple of pics of the old chain from my recent motor work... take a look at the amount of slop there is in the old one

it's a little hard to see but the old chain had double the slack that the new chain had. the stock chain is supposed to have nylon inserts somewhere in there that wear out and then your metal on metal and that is where the slop is supposed to come from. I've read that this happens in as little as 40k miles.
