I am replacing heads and head gaskets on a 5.9 magnum. I have the felpro permatorque head gaskets, and there are no directional markings. which way goes up both sides have a blue seal stripe ,both sides say felpro one side has exposed metal between the bores and one does not?

 

Look at the water passages, if they are partially blocked then its upside down

 

when You lay the gasket on the block . and they are lined up with the dowels then one side the exposed meatal part is down and one side it is up

 

The felpro gaskets are not side specific like some headgaskets. I have checked into this and was told by a felpro rep they will seal either way, provided you torque them correctly.

 

Thought I had some felpro's on my garage wall, only had cometics.
Small square tabs go to the valley, if passages dont line up flip them upside down not clock wise or cc.
