Exclamation Strange Idle...I'm stumped

Hey guys, I've been reading a lot of threads about rough and high idle. Just recently my truck , on cold start up, it revs really high and keeps up with a intermittent idle, but as the truck warms up it stops and idles fine.

From what I've read, the TPS and IAC are the most important sensors for idle, and I know the IAC isn't dirty, cause i just cleaned it less than 2000 miles ago.

Any Idea's ?

When my TPS went out on my truck it did all kinds of funky things from high and low idles to not wanting to get out of 2nd gear. It was a $30 sesnor and fixed that particular problem.

my truck had a really high idle problem, 1500-2000rpm in park or neutral. turned out to be a dirty contact at the ecu. a can of electrical cleaner fixed it.

the 2 times i've had high rpm idle it was the TPS. if a new one doesn't fix the problem, then keep your old one as a spare. you'll need it often for these guessing games...

Ok good idea. Oh and I forgot to mention that it only does it in park, if that matters any...

Happened to me, it was the computer thinking my A/C was on when it wasn't. Fixed it by cleaning EVERYTHING electrical related, including my dash switch.
