Default Fuel Filler

Hey guys,

Anyone know how hard it is to replace the fuel filler tube? I noticed the other day when pumping it started to leak and saw my tube was all rusted. is it just the 4 screws on the outside of the truck and undoing the hose clamps from under the truck?

Any info would be great. Thanks to all you guys for always helping myself and others out and saving us big $$$$.

Yep. Pretty much. It's not that bad really. You've got the main tube and the overflow tube. So two hose clamps. And then the screws you see on the outside.

Water and crap will get into your tank with it leaky. Remember water gets in just as much as gas leaks out. Watch out for any dirt that may fall in while you have it open. You may want to change your tank straps too while you are working in that area. Had to "Arts and Craft" a set of straps on mine.

The filler pipe on my 99 is rusted but for now I give it a good coating of roofing tar to slow down the decay and the trucks e-test isn't for a year, no codes thrown. Just not up to spending $102 on a cheap piece of tubing just yet. The price of parts here is just plain nuts. Blasted Salt!
