2300 is fair. However, I junked mine (1996) with 150K because I could not, in good conscience, sell my truck to anyone. The transfer case was on its way out and leaked like a seive. I knew for a fact that it was leaky then drove it from OK to CA. So it was probably driven bone dry.

If the trannt and Transfer case have no problems, then 23K is good. If not, then about 1500.

thanks.

the truck in question has been parked in the same spot for a week or more and the ground underneath seems free of oil spots, so i don't think it has any massive leaks.

I'm not expecting it to have no problems whatsoever at that mileage. I think my philosophy is that if i get it cheap enough, i'll have money left in the budget to take care of whatever it needs.

But all these responses are a big help, thanks again!
