Why are you wanting to do this if you don't mind me asking? Emergency or long term?

Anyone else remember when most people used alcohol anti freeze?
Usually with a 140 degree thermostat so it wouldn't boil away.
It was 20 or 25 cents a quart and permanent was a dollar per quart.
Water with an additive for pump lubrication and anti rust in the summer.

The reason I ask is because I was in a bit of a hurry. I finished replacing my water pump at 2:30am and I had to be to work by 4:15, and I was going to leave straight from work for Silver Lake sand dunes for a weekend of off-roading. I put straight water in there because I was planning on flushing the system, but I ran out of time.

It turns out there was still some antifreeze in the system because the water a nice green color when I checked the level after I got out of work. I topped it off with some more antifreeze so I should be ok. Even after beating the living crap out of my truck all day yesterday the temp never got above 190 and the coolant level never dropped. Thanks for the help guys.
