Question idler pulleys

I 'm starting to hear a noise coming from my idler pulley. Would there be any difference between an OEM pulley from the dealer and one from a local parts house or a bearing shop. Quality is what I'm looking for, not repeat business.

Just get a good brand. I have heard good things about Dayco idler pulleys.

If you are getting an idler pulley, you should also get a tensioner pulley as well. ANd a gatorback belt.

Save the old idler, tensioner and belt in your "breakdown" box in your truck. In case you need one. I had an idler pulley disintegrate when moving my family from NY to OK. If I had spare parts, it would have been faster than changing a tire.
