Whats the widest and tallest tire I can run?
Hey guys I have an 01 ram sport with some 275/60/20 tires on there right now. I need to replace them soon. Whats the meatest tire I can run? Im looking into 325/70/17 and get different wheels too. Or possibly a 35/12.5/20. Will i have issues with either of these rubbing or anything else? Also whats a good cheap/cheaper tire? Thanks
Is it a 4x4? 1500 or 2500? Generally, the rule of thumb is that on a 4x4 1500, the biggest you can go with all else stock is 285. If you go with less offset on the wheels, you might get 305 before you rub. With some lift (3"-6" depending on how much rub you are comfortable with) you can get 35's (315's), but that's about it. Rub on the control arms will result with anything much larger then that unless you really lower your wheel offset. But then you are basically hanging a large heavy tire out really far from the center point, and that is really hard on your hubs.
