Please help! Engine hesitating over 55mph

Exclamation Please help! Engine hesitating over 55mph

FIRST I'D LIKE TO SAY....."I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!"
ANYWAY, I HAVE A 96 RAM 1500 4X4 5.9 & WHEN IM ON THE HIGHWAY AND I ACCELERATE & HIT AROUND 55MPH MY ENGINE STARTS TO SORT OF PUTT, LIKE HESITATE BUT WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS IT STOPS. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BUT WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS?
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

do you have a tach ?
check and see if the sputtering is speed related or rpm related.
if it won't rev up beyond a certain rpm (in any gear), it might be a clogged cat or possibly a fuel pump or fuel filter problem.

and welcome to df.
now while your here, look on the left side of your computer keyboard and find that key labeled CAPS LOCK. press it one time.

No Tac Dh.....But I was thinking fuel pump or filter as well. Thanks for comfirming but man I hope it's not the damn filter because that means I got to drop the tank right?

Low and behold I figured it out......it was only a bad plug!!! Thanks to all for your help. this site & you guys are heaven sent!!!!

I've seen alot of like studdering problems, something alot of people got.
But try this, take out your air cleaner and take it for a ride to see if it does better,
I could drive mine for about 12 miles, then act up , no power, It was the air cleaner,
Take yours out then drive it like a wild man.
