Oh, okay, gotcha.

I've always liked throwing more light for avoiding animals on the road at night. I'll bet those you've got really do the trick, huh? It helps a lot to be a hunter, too, so you notice when a bush up ahead just happens to have a twitching ear sticking out of it.

i really wasnt talking about the springs.
my buddy has a ranch hand full replacement and he has had to frequently replace all kinds of components on his front end, from ball joints to wheel bearings, also his front end sits about an 1-1.5" lower.

Working in the computer industry from the early '90s up until two years ago and dealing with where almost all my parts came from, I'd bet my bottom dollar that's because the company is headquartered in -- C H I N A...

While we are on the subject of grill guards, here is a little project I did in April. A buddies chrome Warn model had the chrome peeling off his uprights. At seven years old, about 50% of the chrome was gone. Rust and severe pitting had set in.
We had a local shop sand blast them for $40 and then I primed them. Had to use quite a few coats and sanded the hell out of it to bring the deep pitting up to level. Then we ordered some Dupli-Color in his trucks GM Metallic Pewter and I painted them with four coats and two coats of clear.
Came out pretty good I thought. Not a perfect match to the truck as the truck has been in the south Georgia sun for over ten years, but not bad! Painted his black winch mount to match as well.

Curiously, the hoops and center bars are also chrome and in perfect condition? Glad mine is stainless though!

Now he's trying to get me to color match the bars/hoops and take off his bumper and paint it as well to give the look of an all-in-one heavy duty front end. I told him they don't make enough beer for me to undertake that job!!!

Default Trouble with brush guard bracket mounting?

Hey guys. We are trying to install this same brush guard from ebay on our 2001 Ram 1500. Having trouble removing the front mount bolt for the bracket. The nut is fixed to the frame, but the bolt head is on top of a link bar attached to another bolt about 3" away. Both heads have had the corners mashed straight down to the link - looks like factory work? A 14mm won't go on, 15mm is too big, and 9/16" is loose and afraid of rounding. Pretty tight area to get locking pliers in. Anyone else have this problem - and how did you solve?
Thanks for any suggestions.

when i had my brush guard on my truck and slid on ice right into a corner of a stone wall, i think it caused more damage to my truck than if i wouldnt have had it.. it moved up and smashed my headlight and broke some plastic on the bumper... im glad i dont have to worry about hardly anything anymore
