I'm selling my truck, guys . College is coming up next year and I cannot justify the gas guzzling that's going on with my truck. 10mpg just doesn't cut it. I just bought my cousin's 2002 VW Jetta to replace it, since his dad cut me a sweet deal and it gets almost 3 times the mpgs.

My dad and I are gonna finally fix the transmission in the Dodge and sell it. I'm really sad to see it go since we never got to drop the 408 in. We put so many hours and a lot of dollars making it into what it is. Hopefully I can find someone who will appreciate it. It has been on helluva ride.

If anyone is interested, I'll post pics of the Jetta soon. It's going to the dealer for the coil recall. All I can say thus far is thanks everybody for all of the help. I've learned so much through this truck between my dad and this forum. The knowledge is priceless.

Sorry to hear that, man but why sell the truck? I can understand if you're having money issues and what not, but if you have that under control, why not just keep the thing in storage. Perhaps I feel differently about items in families, but if it were me, I would figure out a way to keep it.

Meh. More beer.

I have heard that Jettas are sometimes money pits....then again like our trucks aren't? lol
Sad to see that you're selling the truck. Too bad I have no money and don't live near Galeveston....I would store it for ya!
Although I don't understand why you have to sell it rather than store it....

Man that thing should be getting about 16 with mixed driving since it's a 2wd with the 5.2l motor.
I feel for ya, it'd kill me to have to get rid of mine.
That's why I have a second cheap vehicle that only has liability insurance on it. I had the 500$ Thunderbird that I used to use to get back and forth to work and drive when the truck was down for maintenance then when that crapped out on me I got the 1000$ Camaro.
With the second vehicle, if it is going to cost more to fix than I paid for it then I'll just get another cheap one.
