Default how hard is it to convert a 3/4ton ram to a 1ton

i have a 1996 3/4 ram. my plan is to use a dana 70 rear axle that i have sitting around. make a home made flatbed build a 408 and beffier tranny and use the ram to plow and haul my car trailer i also have a 2 5/16 ball on a plate for a goose neck trailer. i want to be able to haul two cars.i guess my big question is the front axles just have a spacer for the front tires if it has the dana 60 front?

this truck wont be a easy sell the headlights are on a toggle switch 285000 miles on it.
there is a 9' boss plow on it. the interror is in need of major help. some rust. and with a wife who spends like obama i couldnt get a newer truck. so a slow build is what i can do.

LOL. That has to be the funniest thing i've read so far on this forum.

How often do you use it to tow?

Maybe better to find a few items at the bone yard to make it a bit more sellable & get rid of it.
Find something in better shape thats more suiltable.
Probably get a V10 3/4 on the cheap if the CTD is too much.
Put the wifes wallet on a leash to help also lol

My V10 3/4 is a one ton, sticker on the door lists 4960lb payload rating & it sits on the 3500 chassis.
They are around, just rare.

only real difference between the two is a 3/4 has 4 or 5 leafs a 1 ton has like 7 or 8 other than that pretty much the same truck, minus the dually rearend. your 3/4 should have the 4.10's, if this is used just for your toy hauler you'll be ok as long as your not going through the mountains and your combined weight (trailer and cars) don't weigh more than 10k lbs

send your wife shopping for an older cummins down in texas where they're not rusted up. there, 2 problems solved.

on a more serious note, as said with a 408 build and possible transmission, you're going to sink way too much money into a truck that won't have much resell value. yep - either use the current truck with no further $ investment or get rid of it. don't sink more into it.
