Question Rear brake issue

Hey guys,

As of this morning I have a squealing noise coming from my rear passenger tire. It almost sounds as though I am driving with my brakes engaged. I thought that maybe the brake was stuck so I drove at about 15mph and pressed on the E-brake and the brake light started flashing. Tried searching the forum but nothing really matched, as my ABS light is not on or flashing. Any ideas?

Also when I engage the e brake while driving there is a large thud that comes from the same wheel that has the squeal.

+1 Could be the shoes are worn out, or some of the hardware got disconnected or broken.

I'm most likely bringing it to the shop in the morning. I left most of my tools at a friends house an hour away.

Well I tried to remove the drums myself but that was not going to happen. My mechanic took 2 hours to get them off. He said that the factory clips were still on and they have never been replaced, he had to burn off the drums. This all happened after heavy braking at a red light.

So here's the damage;

1 - Holddown kit
2 - Adjuster kits
2 - Wheel cylinders
1 - Rear shoe
2 - Rear drums

Plus
Brake Fluid and an oil change.

$572.00 parts and labor.
