the gap seems too big. i'll see if i can find a pic. is the gap from being ground off by the collar.

your shop is looking for a model number and bill of material. give me a minute and i'll find an example at dana.

found 2 places with conflicting numbers.
dana/spicer calls it the output shaft.

dodge calls it the intermediate shaft, but its the same thing.
part number 40333 at quad.

not listed at riversidegear. they only list the 2500.

i have a question. you did the two door to four door kit. were would i find one of those cause i have wonted that since the day i got my dodge. and was it difficult to install?

Wow... First off, there is no kit. I was lucky enough to find a quad cab the same color and year as mine that had been wrecked. then it went kinda like this:
