Default A/C Issues.

I recently bought my Ram, when I got it the A/C did not blow any cold air. A quick recharge later and it blows cold but there are some issues. 1: The fan is either off or all the way up, there is no speed adjustment in between. 2: I cannot control where the air comes out of, it is basically stuck on your feet vents and dash vents. I was wondering if anyone knows what causes these issues?

Check your vacuum lines. Does driving have any effect or the same. If you are idling is it same. Do a search on the forum for "Wild Vents" it should fix your problem or at least help you better understand the issue at hand. I had the same thing but only under acceleration at highway speeds.

i believe the fan speed control is controlled by the "blower motor resistor".

It seems that at higher speeds the airflow switches to the floor vents only at about 55mph. When you reduce speed they come through the dash vents again.

You have both problems as previously said. Blower motor resistor and "Wild Vents". Both are relatively easy fixes. Good luck!
