Leveling kit confusion
These guys say that stock shocks cannot be used with the leveling kit. I'm wondering why. It seems like most people that I know just get a leveling kit and put them on top of the stock shocks. Im looking to buy these but I'm limited on cash so I dont want to get new shocks anytime soon. Any help would be great!

Thanks for the help! I have never done a leveling job or lift, by searching through these threads I have learned alot about both. This is the first time I have heard about the extenders. Looks like I have more searching to do!
I have heard about just using 2500 springs or bigger springs to get the truck level in previous posts. Would that be a strait swap if I stayed under the extra 3" of height?

I bought the 2" hell bent leveling kit (hellbentsteel.com) and didnt replace my shocks and didnt use shock extenders and it works just fine. My buddy used 2500 springs and got the same effect, just a little stiffer. The leveling kit is well made and cheap. They also have a lifetime warranty. I think I paid $65 shipped.
I bought shocks shortly before deciding to get the 2.5" spacers for my truck. I didn't want to buy more shocks so I just extended my new ones.
I had to make the shock extensions because the threads on my shocks and the extensions on summitracing didn't match up.
After finding a coupling nut and a bolt with the correct threads I just lopped the head off and used red loctite to put them together.
You can see by my signature picture that I've flexed the front axle quite a bit (no sway bar) with these and my shocks are still good.
