Talking 3rd gen 20's on '99 2wd

I have a few questions about the stock gen3 20" rims. I am looking to buy these rims for my truck. I would like to put them on a '99 5.2 2wd. I have heard that the grease cap on the hub is the problem. Some say spacers, others say machining. I am looking to static drop my truck to about 4/6, but have noticed that they stick out past the fender on a gen2. Is there a way to get around that and have them sit like gen2 stocks? Also what tire size would be good for this drop? Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
