Question gas to diesel swap

Does any one know if you can put a 5.9 cummins motor in a 1500 that has a 318 in it right now?

You can do it, hell I put an LS1 in my dodge

Its all about how much work your willing to do, and whether or not you can find a good donor truck with all the parts needed.

I think you'll have to stiffen up the suspention after you add all that weight.

not a worthwhile project. you have to replace everything except the frame and cab, incuding engine, trans, t-case, front axle, rear axle, pcm, most wiring.

sell the gasser, buy a diesel.

Do the half tons have the same frames? I'd be worried about all that torque twisting a lighter duty frame up like a spring.
