plz help seatbelts locked up

Default plz help seatbelts locked up

seatbelt have locked up ussaly they will lock up theafter a hr they un lock but now it been all dam day any ideas

sounds like your sctm is acting up..its under your center seat..its a little black box with wires going into it..i believe the 98 dodge part number on that is P56043003AD..you could try a wrecker thou..

Mine did the same thing for about 6 months, then one day just locked up. It's been over a year. The locking mechanism failed on mine. Only way to get it is to call the dealership. As it is illegal to get seatbelts and what not from a junkyard.

something worth checking on - we had a 2000 honda with a seatbelt problem and took it back to the dealer. they fixed it, said no charge - lifetime warranty on seatbelts... something to do with mandated safety equipment.

I wish. I took mine is as well and it was gonna cost an arm and a leg to get it fixed. However that might be due to the fact that mine is completely broke.
