Default Fuel pump or somthing else?

Whats up ya'll, hope everyones doin good!!!! New scenerio, I was driving home tonight in my 98 5.2, and as im making a slow right hand turn at an intersection, my baby starts sputtering and spittin, so I bury the pedal about 1/2 way down, and continue spittin and sputterin at about 5 mph into the RaceTrac gas station. I shut it off, wait...start her up, shes still doing the coughing thing at around 500 rpm in park. I turn her off and on 3 more times, each time shes still doin it. Then, I kick her on again and rev her up to about 3500 for about 10 seconds, I could hear her doin it at 3500, but it was starting to go away, then within another 5 seconds she totally cleared up. Drove another 1 mile home running great, and thats that. Any advice would be appreciated!!!!

Thanks
Nick

Did you full up at the gas station?
Could have been bad gas before you filled up.

Or it might be the fuel pump.

could be back pressure too- from a cat with loose chunks that only temporarily clogs.. the high rev could have dislodged it, conversely shutting her down and letting gravity take over for a while could do the same..
